Sabrina Asturias, former student and professor of surgery at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Francisco Marroquín, participated in speaker at the World Health Assembly 76. This is a conference of high international acclaim organized by the Global Surgery Foundation.

In her presentation, Dr. Asturias stressed the importance of being aware of the shortcomings of our health care system and how injury deaths are associated with high levels of poverty and under-resourced health care systems. “Doctors are always crossroads between trying to save lives and an under-resourced healthcare system,” he said.
