This congress will be held from August 8 to 12 and is intended for medical professionals, teachers and students; was fond of morphological sciences. Within this framework, the III Peruvian Congress of Morphological Sciences will also take place.

The main purpose of these congresses is to bring together morphologists and exchange knowledge, and to encourage the participation of students studying human medicine at the University of Piura and other institutions.
In addition, these meetings will aim to promote and strengthen participants’ research in the anatomy and morphological academic fields, as well as create a framework for the morphology community to share their teaching experience.
The congresses provide for theoretical and practical classes, as well as conferences and round tables. Among the latter are those related to the teaching of anatomy, the management and preservation of anatomical material, teacher training, and non-biological resources for teaching anatomy. The participants will also visit the world’s first pre-Hispanic anatomical center named after Sechin.

The scientific meetings will be attended by specialists and students from different Peruvian universities and friendly countries, among them foreign speakers such as Dr. Ricardo Jorge Losardo (Argentina), Octavio Bingvinat Gutierrez (Chile), Marco Guerrero Figueroa (Ecuador); as well as Diego Pineda Martinez and Julio Cesar Perez, both from Mexico.
Among the national speakers will be Drs. Edgar Tejada Zevallos and Roxana Paz Allaga; and archaeologist Monica Suarez Ubilus, who will talk about the Sechin Archaeological Project (Casma-Peru), which morphologists consider to be the first anatomical center in the world.
These days, the III International course on the technique of conservation and preparation of cadaveric material for teaching anatomy will also be held.
Body donation for science
The congress will be devoted to various aspects and topics of morphological science; that is, that which is connected with the form of living beings. However, a special chapter will deal with the “donation of bodies for science.”
“This is an issue that needs to be implemented in our country and in which developed countries are ahead of us. In Latin America, this experience is leading the way in Mexico, especially at the National Autonomous University. In addition, Brazil, Costa Rica and Chile, among other countries, have adopted this system to use human bodies in teaching anatomy,” says Dr. Jorge Moscol, Professor and Research Fellow at the UDEP Faculty of Human Medicine.
It also clarifies that two roundtables will be held to address this issue: the first on ethical and legal aspects with the participation of doctors Jaime Millas Moore, Daniela Ramos Serrano, Sandra Esparza Pérez and Norma Fernandez; and the second, which will focus on experts and legislation, will be moderated by Dr. Jorge Moscol González, Octavio Bingvinat Gutiérrez and Diego Pineda Martinez, who will present the experience of Peru, Chile and Mexico, respectively. And Congressman Alejandro Munante Barrios will talk about legislative aspects.
